((This character is a transfer from Western, in the event that Western re-opens he may transfer back and so does not count against the needs listings for the Weyr))
E'rra
Name: E'rra (Earran)
Song: "On Fire" Switchfoot
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Homosexual
Rank: Wingrleader
Family:
Mother: Renea- Kitchen worker (50)
Father: S'ran- Brownrider from Telgar (47)
Dragon: Black Novath
Pets:
Appearance:
E'rra has blue eyes and straight, darker brown hair that he wears cut fairly short. He stands at about 6' with a decent built from days spent training with Novath and he never allows himself to fall out of shape despite the lack of thread over the past turns. He's often in his riding gear since most of his free time is spent training, but is also known to wear comfortable tunics of muted colors with wherhide pants and boots. He carries himself with a sort of purposeful grace in which every move looks deliberate and beautiful.
Skills:
-E'rra's entire life has been dedicated to being the best rider he can be, and his patient nature makes for a very good teacher. Outside of that, there isn't much he's particularly good at.
-Good instincts: He doesn't realize it but there's a bit more to his gut feelings than the average person.
Basic Personality:
E'rra is the picture perfect dragonrider that all of those lessons tell you you should be. Of course, up until recently, there hasn't been too much more to him than that. Also, Novath seems to have a bit more influence over his rider than the typical dragon. More often than not, E'rra will defer to his dragon rather than do what he wants though he is still the guiding force of the pair.
E'rra has a love of beautiful things that one might not expect from a man. His weyr is always immaculate and decorated with the finest things. Artfully carved furniture, beautiful tapestries, Rosetta's delicate glass sculptures, finely woven carpets, and the softest bed linens are just a few of the things one would find in his weyr. As with most collectors, E'rra has a certain way with appraising the value of many items and it can be hard to get the better of him while bargaining. E'rra, however, will never pay a penny less than what he thinks something is worth even if he can get a merchant to go lower. He believes that art is a craft that should be rewarded, even if it means fewer marks in his pocket.

History:
E'rra's life was fairly typical for a weyrbrat. He was born of Renea after she provided a release for S'ran when his Brown Dulzoth failed to catch the Grey in a mating flight. Renea had always had a bit of a soft spot for the Brownrider, having admired him from afar since he had first come to the Weyr as a Candidate, so she was more than happy to join him in bed.
Though he was her only child, Earran was sent to live in the crèche with the other weyrbrats once he was weaned. Renea visited him often, even though S'ran did not. It was probably for this reason that Renea never allowed S'ran the privilege of her company again.
Like many weyrbrats, he became a Candidate once he was old enough. He stood many turns before finally Impressing Black Novath in his 17th. This could easily be noted as when most of his troubles began.
Instead of being happy that his son had Impressed a Black, S'ran was irked. His own son had somehow surpassed him, and it didn't help matters that E'rra and Novath only seemed interested in getting better and better. When he came of age Novath managed to catch a junior Gold in his first mating flight, and he frequently caught those that he chased. The pair became very good at drills, flight exercises, maneuvers, everything required of a dragon and his rider. It wasn't until E'rra was transferred to his father's own wing above him that S'ran really lost it.
E'rra really didn't get the anger, he honestly didn't care about what wing he was in as long as he got to fight thread. And so, he requested a transfer and was sent to Western, much to his father's joy. He wasn't there for very long before the call for transfers at Crescent went out. Just long enough to meet and fall hard for the Greyrider Garrett.
Despite those feelings he made the hard decision to volunteer as one of Western's transfers. His reasoning was the glasscrafter Rosetta who was now making Crescent Hold her home. E'rra had always felt a strong connection with the girl, something unusual for him, that always seemed to drive him back to her shop to check on her under the guise of buying goods. She seemed to set off his latent protective instincts, something delicate that needed care to flourish. Since transferring he has visited the girl every day and as far as he knows, Garrett is moving on without him.

Strengths
- Knows what he wants: E'rra doesn't have any delusions on what he wants, both in life and in the short term aspect. While he may not rush to achieve his goals he is determined and doesn't give up easily.
- Laid back: There's no sense in stressing over the small stuff, and if you panic about the important things then you aren't much good to anyone like that. Most things roll off of E'rra easily and minor set backs don't mean much to him when you consider the big picture.
- Patient: Things will happen when they happen and there's no sense in rushing it. He's very much a 'set things in motion and just wait' kind of guy.
- Polite: Good manners and respect are necessities and should not be taken lightly. In fact, E'rra has very little tolerance for rudeness and it is one of the few things he will call someone out on and ask them to correct instead of just letting it slide.
- Stands by what/who he believes in: Once he has a cause he sticks with it, if he is loyal to you he stays so, and he won't compromise his morals for anything.
Faults
- Stubborn: It can be quite difficult to get E'rra to see things differently or abandon a task once he sets his mind to something. He isn't above reason, but as far as he sees it, he gives a good deal of thought to decisions he makes. Certainly far too much thought to simply abandon those choices at the drop of a hat.
- Shy: Especially around women. E'rra usually won't approach someone, and almost certainly won't approach a female unless absolutely necessary. He doesn't particularly like bathing in front of others either, despite being raised in a Weyr, and will sometimes wait until the oddest times to bathe if using the public caverns just to avoid people.
- Reserved: E'rra views his personal life as a private matter that should be kept so. His decisions, liaisons, family, interests, and bond with his dragon are all things that he prefers to keep to himself. Even if he cares about someone it can take a good bit to get him to open up.
- Won't settle: If he wants something he wants it and won't accept anything less. His dragon also expects constant perfection and improvement out of him and so he never feels his work is done in that regard.
- Prove it!: He doesn't take things at face value, distrusting even the most reliable sources until he gets something more concrete.
