Appearance:
One would be hard-pressed to call this candidate beautiful, or cute, or any variation thereof, though Taralo is not the plain woman her mother is. Rather, she is much closer to being handsome, a rather exotic trait that she manages quite well. She's almost striking, though not in the way that would send men reeling. There is nothing outright feminine about her, but one would have to be very dense to think she is a man.
Taralo has a square face with just enough angle to it to give her that tiny bit of feminism to differentiate herself from any man. Her nose is small and just slightly crooked, indicating it had been broken at some time in the past. Lightly pink lips sit just above the threshold for being narrow, keeping her from having the sourpuss expression of her mother, but also being far from plush or pouty. Somewhat severely shaped eyebrows arch over her narrow hazel-green eyes, giving her a bit of a calculating look. To top it off, she has jet black hair kept in a short style, often spiked up as a fauxhawk.
Light tan skin covers a body that is well-toned. While she still has the curves one would expect from the daughter of the Wherwoman, it's still very obvious that Taralo spends some of her free time working out. Her strength is one of her points of pride, and she will not let anything take it away from her. This rough and tumble child has turned into a rough and tumble woman, and it wouldn't be surprising to see her go into one of the more 'manly' crafts should she ultimately be left standing. Her choice of clothing goes along with this, suited for function, not fashion. Hide lasts longer than cloth, making this choice a nonissue in her mind.
Skills
Strength: Taralo will beat you in arm wrestling, and is more than happy to use that power for more productive work.
Basic Personality:
Taralo has always been the weyrbrat to get into scrapes and fights, and as a woman, she's not much different. While less likely to throw a punch than she used to be, there's still a marked combative streak to her. While her mother may be aggressively caring, Taralo is much less so. When it comes to this woman, there are two options: her way, or the highway. Like it or leave it. Stubborn to a fault, she will not budge when her mind is made and will keep at something until it is finished or until it's destroyed. Or something similar.
As with any human, Taralo does enjoy socializing, though her friends are few and far between. She is far from snarky or cruel, but it takes a certain kind of person to get along with her. Wit is not her strong point, and she's more likely to be the croney than the head of a gang if she gets mixed into the wrong crowd. It can be a bit too easy for this to happen - Taralo has a loyalty streak that runs deep, and anyone that shows they see her worth will find a friend... or at least a body guard. Kindness is not lost on this candidate, even if her way of paying you back is to punch the guy currently giving you a hard time.
Taralo isn't always angry, even if it seems like she is. Frankly, she's a simple woman with simple goals and not all the means to complete them. Should she not Impress, she'll likely join her many fellows as a drudge. The caverns are something she knows, having grown up there, and so, despite appearing to be well off in smithing or mining, it is in the Weyr that she will stay. She takes pleasure in the little things in life - a warm blanket on a cold night, bubbly pies, a good game of dragon poker. The outside is rough, and the inside is, too, but deep down somewhere, there is a woman within this butch candidate.

History:
Taralo's beginnings are about as average as one can get within a Weyr - a girl of the lower caverns finding a man whose dragon lost out on a flight. Taralo was not the first nor would she be the last child of Ranis through the years. She spent about half of her time in the creche, the other half under the care of her mother, getting a balanced 'home' life. When Harper lessons came, she wasn't exactly great at picking up the major points, but she learned well enough. Most children of the Lower Caverns were not destined for greatness, so Taralo was gently prodded towards activities she was good at, and no one suffered.
Still, boys will be boys, and while her scrapes were ignored when she was younger, once Taralo began to bud, their torment increased until she finally got into a fistfight. Once the dust had settled and everyone had been dragged away, Taralo found herself with a broken nose and a broken hand. Recovering wasn't too bad, though her dexterity was diminished somewhat. It was good that the girl had no dreams of being a tailor or a harper as such fine movements were lost.
After her loss and the realization that she really wouldn't succeed in a job with finesse (as well as needing a way to use up pent up energy, since Taralo was getting far too old to be picking fights), she began a regimen of working out and exercising. So what if she couldn't play a gitar; no one was going to mess with someone who could chuck a sack of cromcoal two dragonlengths. The weyrbrat would make herself useful as she moved onto more adult chores.
It wasn't until she was about sixteen that a Search Dragon finally found her suitable to stand for the egg, and even then it was after some hesitation. With drills, the woman should be just fine to be a rider if a dragon would have her. Taralo could follow orders, and that was a plus. Still, hatchings have come and gone and Taralo has remained dragonless. While she has pondered following her mother's footsteps and try for a wher, the news of Crescent Cove's opening has halted that plan temporarily. The news of the marked clutch has sparked some curiosity in her, though this candidate is of the mind that a dragon is a dragon. If she has no luck at Useth's clutch, then perhaps a nocturnal lifestyle is one for her.

Strengths
- Tenacity: Once her mind is set, nothing will stop Taralo from reaching her goal
- Loyalty: Similarly, if someone has proven themselves to be a friend to Taralo, she will always be there
- Hard worker: Taralo doesn't let the prospect of a difficult job bother her at all
- Jack of All: Having grown up doing odd jobs, Taralo is decent at anything she is needed to do
- Impervious: Very little hurts Taralo, she's good at shrugging off disappointments and forging forward despite setbacks
Faults
- Aggressive: Despite her good intentions, Taralo is a fighter and it can get her in trouble
- Simple: She's not the brightest, and while she understands the basic concepts, she will not be an expert
- Master of None: As above, she may know lots of little things, but if she would ever enter a craft, she would never get past Journeyman First
- Insensitive: Not that she's outright mean, but Taralo does not catch on to others' feelings easily
- Stubborn: Unsurprisingly, Taralo does not budge.
