It had taken every ounce of self control that E'rra possessed to let go of Garrett and climb up onto Novath's back to lead the way back to the Weyr. He didn't bother going between since it was such a short distance. Instead he flew with Novath over the long arm of the Weyr to the ocean side. He thought a moment, then landed on the ledge of one, quickly sliding off as Novath took off again to allow Iroth space to get situated in the new weyr.
Novath nodded his great head by way of excusing himself before he landed on his own ledge not all that far away on the same level. Wingleaders weyrs were close to the those for the Golds and Greys due to the similarity in rank more than anything else. At least this weyr had access to the back corridors, unlike the one they'd had at Western.
E'rra waited impatiently next to the ledge, though on the outside it was hard to tell since he looked just the same as he always did save for a certain set to his jaw that said he was clenching his teeth. He wanted to pull Garrett from Iroth and kiss him until he couldn't think from lack of air. He wanted to take him down to his own weyr and let them lose themselves in the covers until their stomachs forced them to go eat something. He wanted to hold the Greyrider in his arms until he was sure he wasn't going anywhere and he was actually staying at Crescent. We want a lot of things, but at the moment Garrett was right. They needed to talk.
He had chosen this weyr for two reasons. One was that it was the most like what Garrett was used to at Western, complete with it's own bathing area. The other was that it was only a few doors down from E'rra's own weyr. If Garrett wanted he would certainly allow him to look at the other empty junior weyrwoman weyrs though. There certainly were enough of them available at the moment.

Garrett reluctantly let go of E'rra's hand just before they mounted their dragons. He was almost disappointed that they flew to the Weyr instead of going between, but he appreciated the view enough and it was quick enough not to matter too much. The entrances on the ocean side of the extended arm of the cliff stared at them as they approached and Novath landed on one of the ledges for E'rra to dismount before taking off again and settling on one of the nearby ledges. He assumed it was E'rra's weyr and took note of its location.
Iroth settled daintily on the ledge of what was to be his new home and he dismounted lightly to land next to where E'rra was waiting. He looked up at the other man, noticng the set of the jaw and smiled. "Welcome to my weyr," he quipped while pulling his pack off Iroth's back, then grabbed E'rra's hand and pulled him inside. Iroth followed them, wanting a look at her new home too. This will do, she rumbled, sniffing at the stone in the larger area near the entrance. I will be on the ledge, she added and headed outside again.
Garrett looked around Iroth's area before heading further into the weyr. "Are there glowbaskets?" he asked in the semi-gloom, eyes already searching the space, noticing the darker entrance to the bathing room to one side, and what was presumably entrance to the corridor heading to the Bowl on the wall opposite the ledge.
Mentally he furnished the place with his belongings and was satisfied with the result. He dropped the pack on the floor and did a little turn. "I like it," he pronounced. He turned to the blackrider and circled his waist with his arms. "Are you happy I've come to join you here?" he asked, already knowing the answer but still wanted to hear it. He was also stalling a bit, needing to get said what was needed before they both gave in to what they wanted. Rina certainly wasn't expecting to see them around the Weyr until sometime the following day. The only thing that was missing now was Smoky.

E'rra visibly relaxed as Garrett dismounted and smiled at the joke. He spoke as the other man looked around, "It has everything you're used to. This place doesn't really get cold so most of the weyrs open up onto the ocean to catch the breezes."
At the mention of glowbaskets E'rra nodded and began turning some over. Rina had the Candidates stocking unoccupied weyrs and checking their baskets along with the occupied ones. Probably due to just this reason. Garrett was far from the first transfer they'd had, not even the first one that day, and there were certainly more to come. Quietly he watched as Garrett figured the place out, not really knowing what to say. He could see the wheels in Garrett's head turning as he made tried to picture the weyr with all of his things in it and wanted to laugh. Chances are he wasn't picturing it as it actually would be, clothes all over the place and things strewn about as if someone had just tried to ransack it.
Still, it made him happy to hear that Garrett liked it, "You know I am, or did I need to prove it to you again?" He was only half teasing. He very much wanted to show the other man exactly how much he had missed him, but he knew exactly where that would lead and there were things that needed to be said first.
He frowned slightly, eyes flicking towards the ground momentarily before he forced himself to look up into Garrett's and ask the question that had been haunting him since he'd left, "How have you been doing since...?" He left it hanging, and it sounded like such a simple question but it wasn't for E'rra. For E'rra it was him having to face whatever state he might have left the man he loved in, and he had to know.

Garrett grinned. "Oh, not to be cold for months on end! Happiness and bliss. Of course summer is going to be blazing." He shrugged. "Oh, well. I'll think of something." He looked out over the ocean. "The view is going to be spectacular at sunset."
When E'rra opened the glowbaskets, his brow didn't quite raise but he nodded in appreciation for Rina's thoughtfulness. As part of his duties it would be to oversee and think of this kind of thing himself. "I see Rina has pretty much thought of everything with so many transfers coming.
During his musings of disposition of his possessions, he glanced over at E'rra, frowned and then raised an eyebrow. "I know what you're thinking and believe me, I have changed a few things. Not so much of a slob anymore - or at least I'm trying to be," he added thoughtfully.
Garrett gave him a smile. "Well, that was quite a public affirmation, but maybe you should remind me again?"
E'rra's question gave him a moment of pause. This was a deceptively simple question, but from the blackrider a very deep and personal one. "I understand you had to do what was best for you and I don't blame you for doing it. I'm sorry I didn't think of this at the time. Talaria had enough others around to do the work I was doing that I shouldn't have felt obliged to stay. I'm not angry or upset, I just missed you terribly and apparently was grumpy." He gave a rueful smile. "I was really grumpy. I think Talaria would had ordered me here if I hadn't gone to her myself."
He pulled E'rra into an embrace. "I'm here, I missed you something fierce and I'm just happy we're together again."

E'rra nodded in regards to the heat, "You won't be able to wear those leather pants you're so fond of." He sighed with exaggerated (but not by much) regret, "It is rather picturesque... Almost makes one forget why this continent is so dangerous."
"Rina is..." he tried to think of a way to put it politely, "Open to advice from others. She's had to be with all that's happened in such a short period of time."
He didn't say anything in response to Garrett's defense against being a slob, just smiled in a way that said 'I'll believe that when I see it.'
He wanted to remind Garrett how much he missed him... Oh how he wanted to, but he knew where that would lead, "Talking first, then I will spend all night reminding you if you still want me to," he rather hoped he did, "I'm not sure it was what was best for me, but I couldn't rightly have the girl moving here of all places, alone, practicing a craft that most view as being for men only even in these times. She might not want to admit it but she does need help sometimes, and there was no one for her to lean on here," he sighed yet again, "I am sorry that I left you... Not that I left, but that I left you specifically. I missed you every day and was probably just as grumpy if it's any consolation. I was actually biting Rosetta's head off for asking about you just as you arrived."
He wrapped his arms around the other man, "So am I. So ...You're really transferring here then?" He pulled back slightly his eyes searched Garrett's face as if making sure he was still there and he wasn't imagining it."
Stop talking and get on with it! This is the longest chase EVER!
E'rra couldn't help it, he busted out laughing. He knew he probably looked insane laughing for no real reason, but he really couldn't help it.

Garrett pouted at the thought. "Oh, drat. And I looked fantastic in those pants." Then he brightened. "We'll be flying Thread soon enough and then I can wear it." He joined E'rra's sigh. "This entire world is dangerous," he said, "but we have dragons to make it safer."
He thought a moment. "She doesn't want to be Weyrwoman, does she?" he asked hesitantly. He doesn't know what gave him that thought, but he had to ask.
He just punched E'rra's arm in response. "I'll show you," he muttered under his breath.
The promise sent a shiver up his spine and he wanted to throw the talking off the ledge into the ocean below and get to the fulfillment of that promise. "You know I love you more for those reasons. You're just a big softie, no matter how much you try to hide it." He smiled at his lover. "She seems like a really nice girl and I'd like to get to know her better." He snuggled close. "I'm just glad I got to my senses and came out here. We can say sorry to each other all night long, or we can agree that we're both sorry for doing what we did or didn't do and move on." He grinned. "You were really going to yell at her?"
He snuggled into the embrace. "Yes, I'm really transferring," he said simply. He was looking up when E'rra's eyes went a little vague as his dragon spoke to him and then started laughing. He got a little puzzled look in his eyes, a smile almost on his lips to see the blackrider laughing like that. "What did he say?" he demanded.

E'rra momentarily wondered on that. The Weyrs were guiding forces on Pern, and yet so much of the rest of the world was still backwards about even guys being together. E'rra had been weyrbred but Garrett could attest to the way holders could be. E'rra was also starting to get the sneaking suspicion that Rosetta's interests lay in a more... feminine direction. As if the girl hadn't made life hart enough for herself by choosing a craft dominated by men.
Garrett's question made him start slightly. He'd forgotten just how intuitive the man could be, "No... I don't think so. At least not at this point in her life. Someday she might make a fine Senior Weyrwoman, but right now I think she can barely control Useth and that's usually not a good thing." Actually it was never a good thing, fortunately Useth was a bit more laid back than most Queen's he'd met, even in light of the recent chaos in her life.
E'rra barely felt the punch, but bore an expression of mock pain anyway for Garrett's sake. Of course he still couldn't hide the twinkle in his eyes that named him an absolute liar.
"She is a nice girl, when she wants to be," he rolled his eyes at being called a softie, "You've been talking to Z'mer.... Haven't you? Only you and him would ever call me that I think." As much as he missed Z'mer he was rather happy NOT to have him draping his devilish self all over him just to make him uncomfortable every chance he got. He probably would have paid a hundred mark coin to see E'rra's affectionate display earlier though just so he could tease him about it afterwards, "No I wasn't yelling at her... I don't think I would have either but.. She was asking if I'd heard from you and at the moment I didn't much want to talk about it."
The puzzled expression only made him laugh harder. When he finally regained his composure he smiled, "He said..." he let that trail off as he leaned in, his lips brushing against Garrett's ear as his voice lowered to a murmur, "That his chase was taking forever and," he nipped at his ear gently, "That we should just get on with it."

He leaned against E'rra to enjoy the sunset. His own words echoed in his head, remembering how Iroth had saved him from holder ignorance and bigotry.
You are Mine, and I am Yours. You do not have to worry about those things. They cannot hurt you anymore. The love that flowed to him through their mental link was unconditional and he reveled in it.
Garrett frowned. "She has trouble controlling Useth? That is not good at all!" This revelation made his arrival so much more important and he had a feeling that he would be working very hard with whomever was the Weyrleader to have the Weyr fighting ready when the time came.
He glared in mock anger and muttered something to himself that sounded suspiciously like "I know where you will be sleeping". He grinned at E'rra, his eyes raking the man from top to toe. There was no question though. The blackrider would be sleeping right next to him... when they slept.
Garrett nodded. "I talked to Z'mer a lot," he admitted. "Who else would flirt with me and not mean a word of it?" he added. "Z'mer flirts out of habit, I responded with the correct phrases. We both knew it was just a game and were happy with the fact that nothing was going to come of it." He had to clarify that, since he wasn't quite sure how E'rra would react. "Most of the time I was moaning in his ear about missing you and he put up with it in good humor. I felt the harmless flirting was good enough payment for him being a good friend." Garrett smiled at E'rra. "Besides, you are a big softie, but I won't tell anybody."
He just listened as E'rra explained about his irritation with Rosetta and he totally understood. "At least you didn't yell at her... I sorta did yell at some of the women working in the kitchens the one day. Talaria had some choice words for me afterward and I had to apologize profusely. They mostly forgave me for the outburst." He looked embarrassed at the admittance.
I agreee, Iroth said in his mind which was barely registering her words since it was close to shutdown with the effect that E'rra's voice had on him. "I think your dragon is very wise. What shall we do about it?" he asked in a very husky tone?

E'rra nodded somberly but didn't say more on it. After having Talaria as a Weyrwoman it was very clear that Rina wasn't anywhere near her caliber. He knew Useth must have chosen her for a reason but... No, he was in no position to judge why a dragon picked its rider.
The thought of Garrett flirting with Z'mer riled him a bit. Not because he didn't trust Garrett, or felt like he owned him, but because Z'mer was so insufferable sometimes. There was no doubt in his mind that he would have done the very same thing even if E'rra had been standing right in front of them. The only difference would be that E'rra himself would also be a target. He smiled at Garrett , "I'd rather you were moaning in my ear..." It was a horribly easy joke to make, but since he wasn't joking completely he didn't feel in the least bit mad for making it.
Garrett... Yelling at the kitchen staff? He couldn't believe it. Not when he spent so much time trying to butter them up for favors. And yet... He usually would have never yelled at Rosetta and he had certainly been getting very close to that point. He frowned, "I'm sorry I caused you any distress..." He intended to make up for it though. No matter how long it took...
"Don't tell him that, I'll never hear the end of it," a wicked smile made his lips curve upwards, "You know..." his words low as his hands glided up to Garrett's shoulders, "I don't think you'll be needing this jacket... It's much to warm here," slowly he pushed the rider's jacket off of his shoulders, urging him to let it fall as lips pressed against Garrett's once more.
((Hmmmm might be fade time XD ))
