Name: D'rew
Song:
Age: 22 Turns
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Rank: Weyrlingmaster
Family:
Father: Armand, Hold steward at Southern Hold
Mother: Melena, Harper at Southern Hold
Dragon: Blue Natoth
Pets: None
Appearance: D'rew is of average height (5'7") and build with dark hair of varying length (depending on his mood for the season) and dark eyes. His mouth is quite expressive and he is showing laugh lines around the eyes. He's got a good singing voice and could easily take the duties of WeyrHarper if needs be. His eyes are friendly and there is a sense of mischief lurking just behind them. He’s got a fondness for hats when he's off duty and dresses in brighter colors when given the chance, a scarf or fingerless gloves, just because he can. His fashion sense can be called adventurous by the more conservative.
Skills
D'rew can read, write and do math quite well. He trained as harper before being Searched so he can play drums, gittern or pipes and sing.
Basic Personality: Despite being quite outgoing he is insecure and always wonders if people would like him. It can lead to trying too hard to make friends, which to some people might be a bit creepy. He can be stubborn when he thinks he's right about something and isn't always gracious in admitting the fact. He can be opinionated and sometimes a little selfish. When he does admit he's wrong about something, D'rew will try and learn from the experience and use it in future. He's clever and quick with a well-timed quip to diffuse a situation, though not ones he creates. He's good with weyrlings and has a knack of explaining things in simple terms (at least simple to him). He's friendly to everyone, trying to hide is insecurity and fear of not being liked.
Strengths
Faults
History: D'rew grew up at Southern Hold, his father one of the stewards and his mother working in the crèche. He showed an aptitude for music and at early age and when the time for apprenticeship came at 12, he was sent to the Harper Hall to be trained. He could sing well, played pipes, gittern and learned to drum, all things useful when he got Searched at 16 and taken to Souther Weyr. He missed walking the tables by a few months, but there was a clutch hardening on the sands and all Candidates were needed to stand.
He stood . And didn't Impress. Two turns later he stood again, and didn't Impress. The stood for the next clutch and impressed Natoth, the best blue ever hatched. In the same clutch was Useth, the new queen hatchling and Mirianth, who died moment after her shell was cracked by Lirin, who promptly went mad and disappeared for the next two turns.
He quickly became friends with all his weyrling mates and got to know Rina, the queenrider quite well. When Useth rose for the first time, Lirin returned and when she attacked Useth, they were all shocked. The clutchmates were mostly the ones to answer Useth's call of alarm, although the whole Weyr reacted. This was also the reason that D'rew joined Rina at Crescent Cove in quarantine.
What he didn't expect was her asking him to be the new Weyrlingmaster for the Weyr being established. She wanted someone she could trust to be there when her sister, now a Candidate, would be living at the Weyr. He agreed, not quite sure what he was letting himself in for. He had a few sevendays to get help from the other weyrs – if they were willing to give it to him.
If ever you become inactive without warning for a long period of time or decide to leave the site, what would you like me to do with your character?
Keep him as NPC or kill him off as needed.
