Whenever you finish creating a character make a new thread on this board to post it in. You will either be told what should be changed or it will be approved and transferred to the appropriate category. Most characters are only asked to be changed if they go against what this Weyr considers to be Canon (regular Pern plus Western, and our histories) or if you specifically do something that we said not to in your character development. See below for any character templates you need. Template order is as follows: Character templates have been modified from Western with the exception of the Gliders.

Human Template:
Name: Song: (optional) Would you like this character to impress? Name you prefer if you impress: (optional for females) Age: in Turns Gender: Sexual Orientation: Adversity to impressing an opposite gender dragon? Rank: Family: Dragon or Wher: (delete if you don't want them to impress. Keep blank if you would like to leave the possibility open.) Pets: (basically anything other than a dragon)
Appearance: (At least 5 sentences. If you were describing them to a crime-sketch artist could they come up with something based on your description?)
Skills
Basic Personality:
Strengths (You can have more but you should describe each.) [ul] [li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][/ul] Faults (same as strengths) [ul] [li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][/ul]
History: (Should be a few paragraphs at least, a story segment is always appreciated too.)
If ever you become inactive without warning for a long period of time or decide to leave the site, what would you like me to do with your character?
Name: First name only, likely made in typical Pern fashion from both parents names (but not a necessity). Song: Something that reminds you of them, or describes them. I find it's good to have a song to get you in the right frame of mind for a character, especially if you have more than one. Would You Like This Character to Impress?: Some people have characters they want to impress but are not here as a candidate, likewise people may have characters who are candidates but you would prefer NOT to impress. If either is the case, please put so here. Name if They Impress: Feel free to delete if you do not feel this is applicable. Male should fill this in, for females it is optional in case you impress a fighting dragon. Riders of Golds and Greys typically do not change their names. Sexual Orientation: Please put whatever you feel is right for your character, not just what you think might limit/not limit their dragon options. Dragons will be impressed based on character, and while your character's sexual preference IS taken into account, it is not the only deciding factor. What your character does in a mating flight, doesn't really count towards their actual sexuality. Note-> That means this is not a sneaky way to make sure your character doesn't end up with a Blue/Green. Adversity to Impressing an Opposite-Gender Dragon: This is put here purely to make sure that no one feels as if they got stuck with a dragon that would not fit their characters and to help me in my decisions with who will impress who. I do not know your characters the way you do and I would like everyone who plays here to be as happy as possible. Unfortunately this may mean you have to wait longer than most candidates for a dragon who fits your character to hatch. Note-> Again this is not a way to keep yourself from impressing a lower ranking dragon, Impressions are based on the personality of your character and that of the dragon. If one doesn't suit, you won't Impress, that simple. Rank: As this is a new Weyr this is very important and you should try to put something other than candidate if that is indeed what you are here for. There aren't many people here yet so every able body is needed to aid in whatever skills they have. Skills: Anything they are especially good at. Any "powers" must be requested via pm first. (do NOT ask for a HAD character, if you are allowed one I will tell you)

Dragon Template:
Name: dragon names always end in ‘th’ Age: in Turns Color: Rider: Rank: Dam: Until the first clutch hatches none have Useth as a Dam, any dragons from other Weyrs may have to make up one (Western has it's own clutching females so if you're from there then check with them) Sire: Since at this point dragons would be transfers same rules apply as with the Dam. The first clutch's sire will be Bronze Holonth but he will not be played or in attendance at Crescent. Speaking Color: Check here: http://www.december.com/html/spec/color.html Please use codes that correspond with your dragon's color and check here for codes that are taken first. If you are assigned one via hatching please use that.
Appearance: At least 3 sentences. Any pictures should look vaguely Pernese at least, not like a D&D dragon with spiky bits. Abilities Marked Ability: Obviously only for marked dragons Agility: On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being horrible and 10 being excellent. This indicates your dragon’s ability to maneuver in flight, how quickly and safely can they turn and dive and avoid obstacles/danger. (Golds, Bronzes, and Browns will never have an agility score higher than 5 or 6, Greys, Blacks, and Burgundies can be as high as 7 or 8, and only Greens and Blues will ever have 9 or 10.) Speed: On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the slowest and 10 being the fastest. This indicates how fast or slow your dragon is in flight. (Unlike with Agility and Endurance, there is not as much limit with speed when it comes to your dragon’s color. On average, however, Greens, Blues, Burgundies, Blacks, and Greys will be the only ones that can reach 9 and 10 while Golds, Bronzes, and Browns won’t get past 8.) Endurance: On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being horrible and 10 being excellent. This indicates your dragon’s ability to last though a full Threadfall (about 6 hours).(Greens will never have an endurance score higher than 5, Blues can be as high as 6, Burgundies as high as 7, Greys and Blacks can be as high as 8, Browns as high as 9, and Golds and Bronzes are the only ones that can be as high as 10.) Sensitivity: On a scale of 1-5 with 1 being average and 5 being extremely sensitive. This indicates your dragon’s telepathic sensitivity. Dragons with 4 or 5 in sensitivity make the best Searchdragons, though a 3 is usually aware of a good Candidate in the area and can pick them out if they are standing in front of them (Mnementh would be an example of this). Those with a 2 can get a general idea of who would make a good Candidate, but only if presented the possibility to their faces. Greens and Blues are the only colors that will ever have 4 or 5 in sensitivity (and only a few of them at that), all other colors can range from 1 to 3.
Basic Personality: At least 5 sentences. Likes (at least 5, preferably more) [ul] [li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][/ul] Dislikes (at least 5, preferably more) [ul] [li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][/ul]

Firelizard Template: Name: Firelizards can be named anything, but in respect to dragons their names never end in ‘th’. Wild flits don’t actually call each other by name, but you still need to refer to them by something so give them a name anyway 8D Age: in Turns Color: Owner: if you want to play a wild flit, just put WILD here.
Appearance: At least 3 sentences. You may also include a picture if you can find a good firelizard picture that looks at least vaguely Pernese. Be sure to include size, color shade, and any markings.
Basic Personality: At least 5 sentences. Likes (at least 3, preferably more) [ul] [li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][/ul] Dislikes (at least 3, preferably more) [ul] [li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][/ul]

Glider Template: Name: Can be named whatever the owner wishes, obvious "th" names are for dragons and "sk" names are for whers. Age: in Turns (at this point there aren't any that are impressed more than 2 or 3 turns and those only for characters who have been at Crescent Island. Rank Color: (hide color) Fur Color: (Normal sugar-glider colors with some variations here and there, such as all black fur is possible in Pern, as are more rings on the tails, ext. If it looks natural it should be okay. Colors should be limited to black, white, creame, tan, brown, grey, and variations on those colors. Redish brown fur could be possible, but rare) Owner: At this point any wild Gliders would be played as NPCs and usually only as participants in a chase.
Appearance: At least 3 sentences. Pictures can be included if you want one to show fur colorations or if you drew one yourself.
Basic Personality: At least 5 sentences. Likes (at least 3, preferably more) [ul] [li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][/ul] Dislikes (at least 3, preferably more) [ul] [li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][/ul]

Gemtail Template: Name: Gemtails can be named anything, but in respect to dragons their names never end in ‘th’. Age: in Turns Color: Owner: Wild Gemtails are not available for play at this time so this field is required. Mate: Gemtails mate for life once they’ve caught/been caught, so list their mate’s color and name here, if they have one.
Appearance: At least 3 sentences. Be sure to include size, color shade of the fur and skin (which are most often different colors, one being lighter or darker than the other), and color shade of the tail gem. Markings of any sort are rare on Gemtails but do occasionally happen.
Basic Personality: At least 5 sentences. Likes (at least 3, preferably more) [ul] [li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][/ul] Dislikes (at least 3, preferably more) [ul] [li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][li] [/li][/ul]
