Appearance:
Aedonys has a certain grace about him, and would be considered handsome by most. He has a fairly average build, but his arms and upper torso are a bit more developed than the rest of his body would suggest. This comes from some of his artistic endeavors, such as long hours painting on walls or ceilings. His hair is feathery, and very dark brown – it appears black in certain lights, or when wet. He tends to comb it so that one of his eyes is covered. He usually dresses very casually with loose trousers, tunics, and sandals. He desires comfort over style, but somehow his laidback appearance makes him all the more attractive.
Skills
Art – Primarily with painting, such as murals, portraits, landscapes, and so on. His level of expertise with painting also required a solid foundation in other forms of art, such as illustration and sculpting.
Basic Personality:
A loner, at least a first glance. He usually keeps to himself, though he’s not opposed to spending time with others. It just rarely occurs to him to seek out social situations on his own. Aedonys would prefer staying in and painting or drawing over going to a social get-together, but it isn’t very hard to persuade him to do otherwise. He always seeks to please, once he understands that he may be looking at something from the wrong angle. When he isn’t in his room, he can probably be found outside with a sketchbook exploring. He looks for beauty in just about everything.
Strengths
- Artistic – He’s been gifted with the arts from a very young age. His expertise is painting, but he’s very skilled with illustration and color theory as well.
- Handsome – Aedonys has very attractive features. However, he seems utterly unaware of this himself. He seems to have no desire to acknowledge or accentuate his own inherent beauty, and instead seeks it out elsewhere (in others, in objects, in just about everything).
- Clever – He loves to solve problems. This likely stemmed from his artistic roots somehow, and when a problem arises he frequently comes up with a solution – and frequently an unusual solution that never occurred to anyone.
- Friendly – Though he isn’t exactly a people-person, Aedonys does enjoy spending time with others. He’s just usually caught up in his own ‘artistic zone’ that he doesn’t really consider other options. He’s fairly amicable when approached.
- Perfectionist – Though this doesn’t apply to his attire, Aedonys is very much so a perfectionist; especially when it comes to his artwork.
Faults
- Socially Inept – Despite his inherent charm, Aedonys just doesn’t understand most social situations. This is because he’s naturally reclusive.
- Temper – His one skeleton in the closet – Aedonys has a wicked temper. When this happens, it is common for him to release his anger out on his artistic creations, behind closed doors. Because he rarely finds himself in stressful social situations, this is a rare occurrence. But when his temper flares, it is generally remembered by all who were involved.
- Perfectionist – This is a strength as much as it is a fault. Because of his obsession with perfection, it’s common for him to be late on a deadline. This is also, to a lesser extent, one of the things that can result in a temper flare. If he becomes too frustrated with a given project, he will destroy it in a fit of rage and start anew.
- Daydreamer – Aedonys frequently gets lost in his creative ideas. He has a difficult time focusing on a given task, especially when he has something else on his mind. That 'something else' is usually a piece of art or an idea for his next project.
- Loner – Unless he is approached, Aedonys seems distant and aloof to most. He keeps to himself most of the time, and that makes it difficult for him to start lasting friendships. In fact, he currently doesn’t have any ‘friends’.
History:
Aedonys was born in Crescent Mine Hold. He spent much of his youth at home with his mother, Donyssa – a Journeywoman Harper. Aecris, his father, has always worked in the mines, and does to this day.
From an early age, Aedonyss developed skills in art. By 10 turns, he was creating astonishingly realistic images, and currently many consider him a prodigy, if not a master. He prefers to work with paint, but he’s very skilled with just about any medium. Upon using a given medium for the first time, many are surprised at his inherent talent with it. His repertoire continues to grow.
Upon turning 18, Aedonyss wanted to see more of the world around him. He’s traveled to Crescent Hold with a caravan, in hopes of selling some of his artwork. His short-term goal is visiting the coastline.
